Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week contract at an acute care facility in Truckee, CA, requiring 2+ years of experience and ARRT or NMTCB certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting at a Level III Trauma Center
- Nuclear Medicine unit operating primarily in an outpatient capacity (~90% outpatient, ~10% inpatient)
- Typical caseload of 2–5 patients per day
- Procedures include myocardial perfusion studies, gallbladder function studies, bone scans, and radioisotope injections
- Patients may remain under the detector for 30 minutes to 1 hour; cardiac stress testing involves sending patients to echo and back to Nuclear Medicine
- Currently operating within a mobile unit while permanent equipment is being replaced
- Primary equipment includes a Siemens e.CAM; PET/CT experience is a plus
- Preferred experience with MIM, iMed Scheduling, Keane Radiology System, Philips iSite Enterprise PACS, or similar systems
- EMR: Epic
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 4x10-hour day shifts with a typical arrival time of 6:00–6:30 AM
- No call, no nights, and no weekends required
- 13-week contract with a strong likelihood of extension
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required — either satisfies the credentialing requirement
- California state certification per AB 2720 required to perform PET/CT
- License required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Proficiency with nuclear medicine imaging equipment and procedures, including myocardial perfusion studies
Additional Information
- Perform radioisotope injections, gamma camera imaging, myocardial perfusion stress testing, gallbladder function studies, and bone scan imaging
- PET/CT experience is highly preferred but not required
- Experience with MIM software, iMed Scheduling, Keane Radiology, or Philips iSite PACS is a plus
- BSN is not required for this position
