Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, patient-focused pharmacist to serve as our Pharmacy Medical Provider (PMP) in accordance with Utah’s Medical Cannabis Program. The PMP plays a critical role in educating patients, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing the safe dispensing of medical cannabis products.

Primary Responsibilities

Serve as the designated Pharmacy Medical Provider (PMP) in compliance with Utah law.

Consult with medical cannabis patients regarding product selection, dosing guidelines, methods of administration, and safe use.

Review and verify patient purchases before dispensing.

Utilize Utah’s Electronic Verification System (EVS) to review patient recommendations and dosing information.

Provide education regarding cannabinoid products, potential side effects, interactions, and responsible use.

Ensure compliance with all Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) and Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) regulations.

Collaborate with dispensary management and staff to maintain the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.

Assist with inventory oversight and quality assurance.

Support staff training and ongoing compliance initiatives.

Promote a welcoming, professional, and patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

Active Utah Pharmacist License in good standing (preferred).

Utah Pharmacy Medical Provider (PMP) registration, or willingness to obtain registration upon employment.

Completion (or willingness to complete) the required Utah PMP continuing education.

Strong communication and patient counseling skills.

Interest in medical cannabis therapeutics and evidence-based patient care.
