Description
OB/GYN Opportunity in Roanoke Rapids, NC
You'll step into an established women's health program with strong community need and room to grow your practice. This is a full-spectrum OB/GYN role with a balanced mix of clinic and surgery, supported by experienced staff and solid hospital resources next door. If you're looking for meaningful work, reliable support, and a schedule built for sustainability, let's talk.
Practice Overview
- You'll join a well-established outpatient women's health clinic adjacent to a 204-bed community hospital with dedicated OB ORs
- Team support includes physicians (OB/GYN + Family Medicine-OB), RN triage, LCSW, and seasoned practice leadership
- Typical mix is ~60% OB / 40% GYN with in-office procedures and OR access for surgical cases
- Procedures include wellness exams, IUDs with anesthesia, MyoSure/myomectomy, hysteroscopy, TLH, and TAH
Schedule
- Clinic runs Monday-Friday, 8:00a-5:00p with a 4.5-day workweek and a dedicated half-day for admin time
- Average 18-20 patients/day (with one higher-volume OB-focused day commonly around 25)
- Primary call is 1:6 in 7-day blocks with backup call at 1:4
- Built-in support helps reduce unnecessary call-ins, including L&D RN triage that can rule out labor by phone consult
Compensation & Benefits
- Negotiable base salary starting at $400,000 minimum, plus a generous call stipend
- Signing bonus $40,000-$60,000 (with options to apply portions early as a residency stipend) and relocation up to $10,000
- Benefits include medical/dental/vision/life, 403(b) with match, paid federal holidays, and malpractice via FTCA
- Time off and development: 15 days PTO year one plus additional personal/self-care days, 5 CME days + $3,000 allowance; loan support eligibility (NHSC/SLRP/PSLF)
Candidate Requirements
- Board eligible or board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Comfort with a true mix of OB and GYN, including routine office procedures and common GYN surgeries
- Team-first mindset and interest in serving a rural patient population with meaningful access needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with Family Medicine-OB colleagues and shared call coverage
Community & Location Highlights
- Small-town ease with quick access to everyday amenities and an easy commute
- Cost of living typically lower than major metro areas, with room to spread out and settle in
- Outdoor recreation nearby (lakes, rivers, and weekend getaways) for time off between call blocks
- Convenient access to regional airports and larger cities for travel, dining, and entertainment
