OB Hospitalist-Full-Time Contract - San Diego, CA
Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is Southern California’s only standalone women’s hospital. SMB is part of Sharp HealthCare, is a 206 bed, not for profit hospital delivering more babies than any other hospital in California.
- Shift rate: $2,500/shift (12 hrs)
- PAID Malpractice and Tail coverage
- Hospital shifts: 7:00pm to 7:00am
- 2-night shifts per week considered full-time
- Clinic shifts: 8:00am-5:00pm (optional)
- Full specialty back up including 24 hr perinatal and GYN/ONC service w/dedicated OB anesthesia
- Responsible for L&D, triage, postpartum, ED Calls and occasional GYN emergency surgery (ectopic)
- Most calls taken with experienced CNM’s. Back-up physicians always available
- On-site overnight provider room
- Hospital delivers ~9,000 babies per year, highest volume in the state of California!
- Group delivers ~4,000 babies per year
- Southern California’s largest Level III NICU, plus advanced care for high-risk pregnancy

Group provides patients a full range of services across 29 different specialties - All clinics have a lead RN, triage RN, LVNs and 1:1 Provider/MA ratio plus operations team

- Group has 200+ primary care providers throughout the county; built in referral syste
Requirements
- Comfortable covering a busy L&D with at least 3 years’ experience, 5 preferred
- Must be able to receive privileges for basic laparoscopy including management of ectopic pregnancies (must have completed 10 cases within the last 2 years to qualify
