Medical Sonography Instructor (Full-Time, 10-Month)
Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Medical Sonography Instructor to join our CAAHEP-accredited Medical Sonography Program. This is an exciting opportunity to educate and mentor the next generation of diagnostic medical sonographers while contributing to the continued growth of one of North Carolina's leading community college sonography programs.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction in classroom, laboratory, clinical, and online learning environments. Instruction may include abdominal, obstetrical/gynecological, vascular, cross-sectional anatomy, ultrasound physics, and related sonography courses. Faculty are expected to create engaging learning experiences that promote student success while maintaining current knowledge of sonographic practice, technology, and educational best practices.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching lecture, laboratory, clinical, and online courses in accordance with the approved curriculum.
Developing and maintaining course materials, syllabi, assessments, and learning activities.
Evaluating student academic and clinical performance and providing timely feedback.
Advising and mentoring students throughout the program.
Participating in curriculum development, program assessment, recruitment, retention, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Supporting program accreditation activities and maintaining compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
Maintaining required professional credentials and participating in continuing professional development.
Serving on college committees and participating in departmental, division, and college-wide activities.
Collaborating with faculty, clinical affiliates, and community partners to ensure high-quality educational experiences.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Current credential(s) in one or more of the following sonography specialties: Abdomen (RDMS-AB), Obstetrics and Gynecology (RDMS-OB/GYN), Vascular Technology (RVT), Cardiac Sonography (RDCS), or other appropriate specialty.
Minimum of two (2) years of full-time clinical experience as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and instructional technology.
Ability to obtain and maintain all clinical and institutional requirements necessary for faculty and clinical site participation.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution (master's degree preferred).
Five (5) or more years of clinical experience as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer.
Previous teaching experience in a community college, university, or accredited sonography program.
Experience with online instruction and learning management systems such as Blackboard or Canvas.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, student assessment, accreditation, and program evaluation.
Additional professional credentials such as RVT, RDCS, or ARRT certification.
