About Our ClinicAt All Creatures Pet Hospital, we are a thriving, privately owned practice with a strong focus on small animal and exotic medicine. Our team sees a wide variety of cases, including reptiles, pocket pets, birds, and the occasional wildlife case, while still maintaining a strong base of small animal clientele. If you enjoy variety, collaboration, and the opportunity to continue growing your skills while leading a supportive team, you'll feel right at home here.
As Medical Director, you'll serve as the clinical leader and medical voice of the hospital, helping guide medical quality, mentorship, hospital culture, and team development while still maintaining an active clinical caseload. In close partnership with the Practice Manager, you'll help shape the future of the hospital, support operational excellence, and create an environment where exceptional medicine and teamwork thrive.
Clinic Snapshot
You'll work alongside a collaborative team with a strong small animal foundation that also sees exotics, including reptiles, birds, and pocket pets. We have the tools, equipment, and experienced support staff to support exotic medicine, but exotics experience is not required for this role.

Leadership Responsibilities
- Set, model, and uphold high medical quality standards throughout the hospital
- Coach and mentor associate veterinarians and clinical support staff
- Partner closely with the Practice Manager on hospital operations, workflow, and team development
- Lead by example in client communication, medical excellence, and hospital culture
- Help recruit, onboard, and develop veterinary talent
- Actively practice medicine while serving as a visible clinical leader for the team
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited university (required)
- Active veterinary license in Alabama or the ability to obtain licensure
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a practicing veterinarian preferred
- Previous leadership or mentorship experience is a plus
- Compassionate, client-centered approach to care
- Strong communication and client-education skills
