About Westside Animal Clinic
We’re a growing general practice located in Worcester, Massachusetts focusing on wellness and preventive care, surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, outpatient urgent care support, and exotic pet medicine. Our hospital has a collaborative, supportive work environment and a loyal, diverse client base that ranges from longstanding local families to more affluent clientele throughout the area. We pride ourselves on teamwork, collaboration, patient care, client experience, education, and continuous exploration and growth. Compassionate communication, teamwork, mentorship, and medical quality are all equally important.
Westside Animal Clinic is proudly AAHA accredited, and all doctors and technicians are Fear Free certified, with additional cat friendly initiatives throughout the hospital. Our doctors are supported by a strong technical team, including experienced CVTs, and we foster an environment where collaboration between doctors and support staff is a core part of daily operations.
Our hospital continues to grow and invest in the future. We currently offer three exam rooms with plans to expand by adding additional exam space and a dedicated dental suite coming in the future. The hospital includes a dedicated surgery suite, digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound capabilities, electrocautery equipment, Heska in house diagnostics, Antech reference laboratory support, and visiting specialists including an internal medicine specialist twice monthly and cardiology support with echocardiography services.
Doctors typically enjoy one dedicated surgery day weekly while continuing to practice a strong mix of medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. We routinely perform spays, neuters, mass removals, dentals, gastrotomies, and outpatient urgent care cases. While we do not provide overnight hospitalization or major emergency surgeries, our team embraces walk in and same day needs whenever possible.
Westside Animal Clinic currently consists of a highly collaborative doctor team with strong tenure and stability. Several doctors have been with the hospital for 5 to 10+ years, including long standing leadership within the practice. The hospital also supports exotics medicine, with one doctor specifically seeing exotic patients.
The team values communication, mentorship, collaboration, and continued hospital growth. This leadership opportunity is viewed internally as a marathon, not a sprint, with a focus on finding the right long term cultural and medical fit for the future of the hospital. Leadership is seeking a Medical Director who can help guide the team through continued growth, strengthen communication, support medical quality, and help mentor both veterinarians and support staff.
We are open Monday through Tuesday from 8:00am-6:00pm, Wednesday from 8:00am-8:00pm, Thursday from 8:00am-6:00pm, and Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm, serving Worcester, Holden, Leicester, and the greater Central Massachusetts area with easy access to Boston.
The area offers a diverse cultural environment, excellent restaurants and markets, the Worcester Red Sox (WooSox) minor league baseball team, and convenient access throughout New England.
At Westside Animal Clinic, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, you will have the support, tools, and resources to elevate your skills. As a hospital deeply rooted in the local community, you will experience the best of both worlds: a genuine local feel with the benefits of Thrive's national resources. Click here to learn more.
