- Location: Indianapolis, IN
- Facilities: Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis (86th Street) & Primary Care Center (PCC), strategically located on the 86th Street campus
- Schedule: Mixed clinical and administrative; 12 weeks/year Inpatient (7-on/7-off), 6-7 outpatient half-days/month, and dedicated APD admin time.

How You’ll Make an Impact in This Role
- Mentor and educate a cohort of 48 Internal Medicine residents within a dedicated Resident Faculty Practice environment.
- Lead administrative initiatives as a member of the Program Education Committee to continuously improve the resident experience and curriculum.
- Provide expert inpatient care at our flagship Level 1 Trauma center during assigned rotations, balancing clinical volume with bedside teaching.
- Manage complex patient panels in the outpatient Primary Care Center, focusing on underserved, underinsured, and refugee populations.
- Collaborate with program leadership to shape the strategic direction and growth of the Ascension St. Vincent Internal Medicine Residency Program.
- Supervise clinical sessions for residents, providing real-time feedback and professional development guidance.
- Navigate diverse EMR platforms (Athena and Sunrise) to ensure seamless care coordination across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Participate in resident recruitment and selection, serving as a primary representative of the program’s academic excellence.

Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis is a premier medical destination and a Level 1 Trauma Center with 825 beds. As the flagship location, it hosts 8 Centers of Excellence, including the Heart Center, Transplant Center, and the comprehensive Lucas Family Brain & Spine Hospital. This site is also home to the Nasser Education & Simulation Center, providing world-class resources for medical education and resident training.
The Primary Care Clinic is operated by 48 Internal Medicine Residents with a 3:1 faculty to resident ratio. This clinic provides expert care to underserved, underinsured, and refugee populations while mentoring residents on quality inpatient care.

Requirements
What You Will Need
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
What Additional Preferences We’re Seeking
- Commitment to the Underserved: A strong interest in working with non-English speaking and refugee populations at the Primary Care Center.
- Academic Passion: A proven track record or strong desire for teaching and clinical mentorship in a residency setting.
- Optional GME Leadership Experience: Prior experience in Graduate Medical Education leadership or academic administrative roles is a plus.
