BayCare Medical Group, the largest and most respected physicianled medical group in the Tampa Bay area, invites a boardcertified cardiologist to serve as the Founding Fellowship Director for our exciting new Cardiology Fellowship Program. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-volume, well-established and growing cardiology practice based at St. Joseph's Hospital located in Tampa, Florida.
The Fellowship Director provides overall leadership and oversight for the planning, organization, execution, and administration of the program. This role is responsible for setting the strategic vision of the program and ensuring excellence in its standards, quality, and national reputation. The Fellowship Director collaborates closely with physician practices and hospital clinical services to integrate fellowship training in a way that enhances value, quality of care, and the environment for professional practice and medical education. Additionally, the Fellowship Director leads initiatives to advance fellowship education and ensures ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Participate in an excellent group practice within BayCare Medical Group Cardiology seeing patients with a broad range of cardiac conditions.
- Opportunities and support for clinical trials and clinical research.
- Opportunities to develop subspecialty or focused practice interests within the health system.

The St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Institute offers the latest technologies for open-heart and structural heart procedures. Advanced and minimally invasive procedures include complex valve and coronary bypass surgery, TAVR, MitraClip, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, vascular surgery, targeted hypothermia ablation of advancedatrial fibrillation (AFib) and complex arrhythmia, as well as a complete suite of offerings to manage implantable cardiac devices. Each year, over 500 open-heart surgeries, 600 interventional procedures, 900 diagnostic services and 11,500 diagnostic tests are performed as our nationally renowned heart program continues to grow.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Eligible for medical licensure in Florida.
- Must have at least three (3) years of documented educational and / or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency OR cardiovascular disease fellowship.
- Proven ability to balance administrative leadership with hands-on teaching and clinical care
- Board certification in Cardiology
- Non-Invasive or Invasive and Clinical Cardiology expertise
- 5 or more years of experience working in cardiovascular medicine preferred
