Unsure About Your Licensure?
If you are unsure about your licensure eligibility in British Columbia, your first step is to register with Health Match BC (HMBC). A HMBC representative will review your application and connect with you to discuss licensure requirements and available immigration supports.
If you secure a permanent position (minimum 0.8 FTE) with Island Health, HMBC will work alongside our Medical Staff Recruitment team to support you through the BC Provincial Nominee Program, a streamlined pathway to obtaining a work permit and progressing toward permanent residency.
