Description
Tennessee Equine Hospital is looking for a full-time board certified or residency trained surgeon to join our team. This person would work alongside multiple ambulatory doctors, one board-certified surgeon, two internists, interns, and a fully staffed team at our primary facility. We are looking for an enthusiastic positive team player to help build caseload and further the practice’s reputation for high quality specialty and emergency services. The position offers a certain degree of flexibility and we will support any disciplines or special skills that you may bring to the table. Participation in a shared specialist on-call schedule is expected.
Tennessee Equine Hospital is a thirty-two stall referral and primary care equine practice based in Middle TN with four satellite facilities around the state insuring a steady caseload of referrals. We perform primary care, referral, and emergency services, including sports medicine, surgery, internal medicine, reproduction, preventive care, ambulatory, emergency, and critical care services. The practice has an Esaote MRI, nuclear scintigraphy, digital radiography, GE ultrasound, diode laser, shock wave therapy, 3M and 1.6 M endoscopes, and an isolation facility. The surgical facility includes both a general anesthesia and standing surgery suite with custom stocks and two induction and recovery stalls. We work with the latest equipment for fracture repair, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, advanced dentistry, laser surgery, etc .
The Referral Hospital is located in Thompsons Station, in the wealthiest county in TN, 35 minutes south of Nashville, 4 hours from the Appalachian Mountains, and 6 hours from the Gulf of Mexico beaches. The horse population is diverse with a mix of Western and English disciplines and a large facility with horse shows for most of the year. The caseload is highly diverse and the clientele is extremely pleasant. You will enjoy Southern hospitality and a warm climate!
Requirements
Provide surgical care for emergency and elective cases
Participate in the specialist on call schedule
Collaborate with primary care veterinarians
Mentor young veterinarians.
