The Mackay Base Hospital have opportunities available for Registrars or Principal House Officers to join their Cardiology Department on a Temporary Full-Time basis (76 hrs pf).

Your opportunity
To participate in the provision, development, and maintenance of an effective, efficient, and equitable clinical service to hospital clients; and contribute to the continual improvement of medical education and dissemination of knowledge to staff and clients.
The appointment will be to the Mackay Hospital and Health Service for the provision of services to the Mackay Base Hospital. However, at some future time, the appointee’s clinical duties may be extended to other health care facilities within the Health Service.
Your role
- Provide medical care under the supervision and direction of senior medical staff.
- Document relevant clinical information accurately, concisely and legibly in ieMR and ensure discharge summaries and other correspondence are completed with minimum delay and that all such correspondence is complete prior to leaving the unit.
- Conduct interviews, examinations and the identification of clinical problems including day to day review of patients.
- Arrange investigations, surgical treatment, medical treatment and discharge as directed by the assigned consultant.
- Provide assistance with procedures and outpatients clinics as directed by the assigned consultant.
- Provide support for junior and senior medical staff as required.
- Assist with case presentations at teaching meetings.
- Participate in clinical meetings undertaken within the appropriate clinical unit.
- Participate in after-hours shift roster.
- Participate in continual professional development and medical education.
