Medical Center Radiologists (MCR) is seeking one or more Breast Imaging Radiologists to join our physician-owned private practice as we expand into Fredericksburg, Virginia and support the growing breast imaging needs of Mary Washington Healthcare.
Beginning February 1, 2027, MCR will provide radiology services for Mary Washington Healthcare, creating an immediate opportunity to expand our breast imaging team. This is an opportunity to join an established, independent radiology practice while helping develop MCR’s presence in a new and growing Virginia market.
We are seeking radiologists who are passionate about breast imaging, who value collaboration, and want to make a meaningful contribution to a comprehensive regional breast imaging program.
Experienced breast imaging radiologists and current fellows graduating in 2027 or 2028 are encouraged to apply.
A Growing Regional Breast Imaging Network
Mary Washington Healthcare serves Fredericksburg, Stafford, and surrounding communities through an extensive network of hospital, outpatient imaging, and specialty care facilities.
The regional imaging network includes:
- Six primary outpatient imaging locations
- Two dedicated breast imaging centers
- Comprehensive breast imaging services
Incoming breast imagers will join an established regional breast imaging infrastructure while helping support MCR’s continued expansion and long-term growth in the Fredericksburg market.
MCR offers flexibility in practice structure. Candidates may choose between a dedicated full- or part-time breast imaging position with a Monday–Friday schedule or a shareholder-track position with participation in the broader practice call, night, and weekend schedule.

Compensation and Benefits
MCR offers competitive compensation and benefits with two potential practice pathways.
Shareholder-Track Position
- Experienced radiologists receive 90% of shareholder compensation during the shareholder-track year
- New fellowship graduates receive 85% of shareholder compensation during their first year
- One-year pathway to shareholder status
- Equal-share partnership following achievement of shareholder status
- 10 weeks of vacation plus 10 additional days off for full-time shareholder and shareholder-track radiologists
Dedicated Breast Imaging Position
- Full- or part-time opportunities
