Description
Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo is seeking a clinically active, board-certified physician for a part-time Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) leadership role. The ACMO supports hospital-based clinical operations through patient-centric, Mission-aligned servant leadership.
Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer and hospital President, the ACMO is accountable for driving operational excellence in clinical quality, safety, patient experience, and clinician engagement while maintaining fiscal stewardship. This role is ideal for a physician leader dedicated to advancing a high-performance culture rooted in the Ascension Mission.

Core Responsibilities & Strategic Oversight
- Clinical & Operational Excellence: Lead quality, safety, and operational initiatives across hospital services.
- Physician Engagement & Talent Development: Inspire excellence, cultivate influential relationships, and drive clinician engagement.
- Fiscal Stewardship: Ensure cost-effective, high-quality patient care aligned with organizational goals.
- Executive Leadership & Governance: Deploy structured problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and closed-loop communication.
- Develop subject-matter expertise in Peer Review, Credentialing, Medical Staff Bylaws, and regulatory policies.
Requirements
Requirements & Professional Expectations
- Must be a clinically active, board-certified physician practicing at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo
- Requires a minimum 2-year commitment
- Demonstrated adherence to Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives (ERDs) and Ascension’s Core Values
- Strong strategic alignment and effective communication with the CMO and hospital President
- Completion of CORE leader training (Communicate Openly, Respond Empathetically)
