The AIM at Melanoma Foundation is seeking a Director of Medical Education (DME). This position is a critical public-facing representative of the Foundation and its ancillary organizations.
The DME will research and write a wide variety of content for AIM and its ancillary organizations. This content will include webpages, grants, decision-making tools, articles for newsletters, patient action plans, and much more. S/he will work with AIM’s vice president on the editing process for all written material.
The DME will work with AIM’s president to brainstorm and write grants for unmet needs in the cancer communities in which AIM works and create the deliverables in the grants either him/herself, using AIM’s current resources, or through contractors. S/he will function as the project manager for many of AIM’s grants, from approval to deliverables, because the deliverables are primarily written and education related. Specifically, s/he will manage the written (medical and educational) content for the AIM at Skin Cancer and AIM with Immunotherapy websites.
The DME will develop his/her expertise in topics related to melanoma, skin cancer, and immunotherapy education and patient advocacy.
Additional foundation-wide goals toward which s/he will also work include 1) increasing the brand awareness of AIM; 2) increasing the touch of the Foundation across the melanoma, skin cancer, and immunotherapy “worlds”; 3) spreading the AIM message: “Our work is critical to finding the cure, and we need your support to fund our work.”

Along with AIM’s president, brainstorm, write, and submit grants to our industry partners (note: these grants are succinct—three to five pages—descriptions of unmet needs and our solutions to meet those needs)
Gather and manage a team of contractors for deliverables that are not in DME’s skillset
Manage grants, from approval to deliverables, and grant budgets
Develop and maintain relationships with cancer physicians, nurses, PAs and others who may assist us with deliverables for our grants
Work with AIM’s international partners (MIPAC—Melanoma International Patient Advocacy Coalition) who may assist us with deliverables for our grants
Write content for our websites, newsletters, and other media, and work with AIM’s vice president on the editing process
Manage the written (medical and educational) content of several websites, and work with AIM’s marketing director who manages the technical, user experience, and visual aspects of our websites
Continue to develop expertise in melanoma, nonmelanoma skin cancer, and immunotherapy topics related to patient and healthcare provider education and patient advocacy
Along with AIM’s president, build AIM’s CME portfolio
Assist president with AIM’s think-tank, the International Melanoma Working Group, as needed
Regularly communicate with AIM team, both individually and on team calls and emails
Work collaboratively with all stakeholders in our organizations
Work independently and track/measure work in an easy-to-share format
Use Salesforce and other internal tools as needed
