The Medical Coordinator is responsible for assisting individuals who live at the Natick Village program with all medical related duties and ensuring the smooth operation of consumer services in the area of health.

Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma/GED
Additional Shift Details M-F 8am to 4pm (with some flexibility)
Responsibilities
Schedule, transport and attend all individuals’ medical, dental, psychiatric and any other necessary appointments.
Complete documentation of appointments, file and distribute as appropriate to other providers (DDS, day programs, and family/guardians).
Monitor individuals’ medication supply.
Assist individuals in dropping off and picking up prescriptions from the pharmacy.
Maintain current medication treatment charts.
Ensure accuracy of medications following Medication Administration Program procedures.
Maintain current Doctor’s orders.
Ensure all individuals’ health insurance is current.
Assist individuals in Self-Advocacy, decision-making, and empowerment.
Attend all meetings deemed necessary by the Advocates program manager.
Maintain continuous communication and report all significant issues to the appropriate persons, as well as document issues/incidents according to agency guidelines.
Attend trainings as assigned; maintain necessary certifications (First Aid, CPR, Safety care, MAP, HR/DPPC).
Perform physical intervention in the event of a client crisis.
Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights policy.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and two years related experience.
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and the ability to use good judgment.
Sensitivity to the needs of the population.
Must have basic computer knowledge.
Must be highly organized and possess the ability to multitask in high energy atmosphere.
Must have superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
Must hold a valid drivers’ license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport individuals.
