Description
Olympic College (OC) is seeking a full-time DMS faculty member to teach didactic, lab, and clinical courses while supporting student success, program accreditation, and curriculum development.
OC is a comprehensive community college serving a diverse student population across academic transfer, workforce education, and applied bachelor’s programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach lecture, lab, and clinical sonography courses
Develop and update curriculum aligned with CAAHEP / JRC-DMS standards
Assess student learning and clinical competency
Supervise students in clinical settings
Provide academic advising, mentoring, and career guidance
Participate in accreditation, program review, and outcomes assessment
Collaborate with faculty, clinical partners, and healthcare organizations
Utilize LMS and instructional technology
Support diversity, equity, and student success initiatives
Engage in recruitment, outreach, and institutional service
Teach evening, distance, or satellite campus courses as needed
Maintain syllabi, grading, communication, and office hours
Participate in faculty governance and committees
Program Impact & Authority
Ensure program compliance, competitiveness, and workforce alignment
Determine teaching strategies, materials, and assessments
Evaluate student progress and assign grades
Oversee classroom, lab, and clinical operations
Collaborate with clinical partners and supervise real-world training
Contribute to curriculum updates based on industry standards
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
ARDMS (or equivalent) – Abdomen & OB/GYN
2+ years recent clinical ultrasound experience
Teaching or precepting experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Microsoft Office proficiency
Physical ability to support clinical instruction (4–6 hours)\
Active, unencumbered RDMS license in Washington State
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in DMS or related field
