The University of Pikeville invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Oral Maxillofacial Radiology for the Tanner College of Dental Medicine. This critical faculty member is envisioned to provide exceptional and innovative teaching, patient-centered interprofessional care, and scholarly activities.
Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction
Deliver integrative, case-based instruction to predoctoral dental students, other health profession education students, and additional learners as assigned.
Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to ensure high-quality, clinically relevant education that supports the integrated dental curriculum.
Clinical Services and Protocol Development
Provide consultation services within the student clinic in collaboration with other faculty.
Establish a CBCT and maxillofacial radiographic reading service, and develop protocols based on American Dental Association recommendations and other evidence-based sources regarding radiographic imaging, interpretation, and clinical workflows.
Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Engagement
Collaborate with other divisions in the Departments of Oral Health Science and Oral Health Practice in teaching, clinical care, and scholarly activities.
Provide interdisciplinary patient care in collaboration with University of Pikeville colleagues from other health profession education programs to strengthen interprofessional education and patient outcomes.
Service, Scholarship, and Leadership
Contribute service and scholarly expertise to fulfill the mission of the Tanner College of Dental Medicine.
Engage in institutional initiatives, academic service, and scholarly contributions that advance dental education and clinical practice.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Requirements:
DMD or DDS degree from a CODA-accredited institution or equivalent.
Possess or be eligible to obtain a license to practice dentistry in Kentucky or faculty limited licensure.
Graduate of a CODA-accredited Oral Maxillofacial Radiology residency program is required.
Previous experience supervising predoctoral dental education students at CODA-accredited institutions is preferred.
American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Eligible/Certified.
