Advanced Radiology is the leading 100% radiologist owned and managed private practice radiology group in Maryland, with over 100 radiologists. The practice has a long-term business partnership with Radnet, a leading national provider of outpatient imaging services, and a publicly traded company. We have no association with private equity.
Advanced Radiology is an altruistic independent practice with a great culture, equality, transparency, diversity, and many opportunities for our radiologists. We are looking for innovative radiologists who value involvement in helping to grow our business. Participation in modality and business committees from new hires is welcomed.
Partners work 185-190 weekday rotations and 8-9 weekend call rotations a year. The limited number of weekend call rotations is an industry low. Partners enjoy 14 weeks’ time off between vacation weeks and days off. For partnership track - in the first year, there is an equivalent of 11 plus weeks (55 days total) paid time off (PTO) which is split between 6 weeks of vacation taken and the rest as days off. This adjusts annually until reaching the partner level of 70 days off (equivalent of 14 weeks). There is no additional monetary buy-in for partnership status. All partners are equal owners of the practice with the same compensation packages.
Partnership track is 3 years. AR has an internal mentorship program and a gradual ramping up of workload to ensure that our new hires are successful at transitioning into private practice. Internal moonlighting opportunities are slowly increasing.
Daytime work and weekend call responsibilities are shared equitably among AR members. Radiologist workload is at approximately the 60th percentile national average. Weekday volumes averages 68-70 CMS wRVUs. AR uses its own internal Advanced Radiology wRVUs to more properly value studies in terms of time to complete study. Physician handlers in the centers and off-site radiologist support teams assist in managing STAT and critical results reporting.
Radiologists are provided a home workstation system (using pre-tax dollars) which is built and supported by our IT Department. These are the same workstations we deploy in the imaging centers, and are needed if the radiologist wants to be in the work from home rotations.
A self-insured health plan offers the very best coverage with little or no out of pocket expense- TPA CareFirst National coverage plan. Pharmacy and dental coverage included. Both short and long-term disability plans are provided, as well as a $100,000 group life insurance policy. We also offer a Health Savings Account. Vision coverage is an available option.
The practice has your retirement covered with 401(k) & profit-sharing plans (defined contribution plans), and available cash balance plan (defined benefit plan) to maximize your retirement savings. For partnership track, your 401k is fully funded to the legal maximum extent by the group starting year 2 ($43,500 for 2023), with a vesting schedule.
Advanced Radiology offers excellent partnership income, top 10% in our geographical area.
During the worse of the pandemic, our practice did not furlough or release any radiologists despite a significant decrease in imaging volumes. Our physician leadership team, comprised of experienced radiology services executives, navigated the practice through the worst of the pandemic with less than a 5% drop in 2020 compensation. We have increased our partnership income incrementally almost every year. As a private practice group, we work to maximize efficiencies as the savings accrue to the radiologists, not a third party employer.
