Position Overview
The Nuclear Cardiology Technologist plays a key role in URMC’s commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge imaging technology in a supportive academic environment, contributing to research and clinical innovation that directly improves patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced nuclear cardiology studies (SPECT, SPECT/CT, PET/CT) with precision and clinical expertise
Provide compassionate, patient-focused care—explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of safety
Acquire and process diagnostic images, perform daily quality control, and oversee radiopharmacy operations in compliance with NYSDOH guidelines
Document and manage patient data using the eRecord “CUPID” system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards
Collaborate with the Director of Nuclear Cardiology and team members to introduce new technologies and continuously refine laboratory protocols

Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited program required
Experience in Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
New York State License in Nuclear Medicine required (or eligibility for a temporary license pending NMTCB or ARRT(N) results)
Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an approved program preferred
