Description
Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is seeking a motivated Clinical Medical Physicist to join our dynamic radiation oncology team.
This full-time position is based in a progressive department that embraces advanced technologies and collaborative, patient-centered care. We are seeking an individual with a modern skillset and excellent communication skills that will thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Our facility is equipped with a Varian ecosystem, including three linear accelerators, Bravos HDR, Eclipse and Elements TPS with Radformation products, and a comprehensive set Sun Nuclear QA equipment. You’ll join a supportive team of 4 physicists, 5 dosimetrists, and 3 radiation oncologists working together to deliver cutting-edge treatments with compassion and precision. We prioritize a healthy work-life balance and offer flexible hybrid work options for appropriate clinical responsibilities.
Clinical Equipment & Software
- Linear Accelerators: Varian TrueBeam with Identify, Edge with ExacTrac Dynamic, and Novalis Tx (to be replaced by Ethos) all with Portal Dosimetry
- Brachytherapy: Varian Bravos HDR
- Treatment Planning: Eclipse (including RapidPlan, MCO, HyperArc) with Radformation tools (ClearCheck, AutoContour, ClearCalc, EZ Fluence) and Brainlab Elements
- QA Tools: Portal Dosimetry and Sun Nuclear (SunCHECK, IC Profiler, ArcCHECK, SRS MapCHECK, Daily QA3, 1D/3D scanners, etc.)
- Oncology Information System: Aria and Epic
Requirements
- Provide clinical physics support for external beam and brachytherapy services, including SBRT, SRS, and gynecologic HDR
- Perform and document quality assurance for linacs, HDR, and imaging systems in accordance with AAPM guidelines (e.g., TG-51, MPPG 8.b, etc.)
- Collaborate with dosimetrists and oncologists to support treatment planning and delivery workflows
- Conduct weekly chart reviews, initial plan checks, and end-of-treatment reviews
- Support commissioning, protocol development, and process improvement projects
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or closely related field
- Must possess and maintain current State of Florida Therapeutic Radiological Physicist License
- ABR board certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics (or Board Eligible)
- Prior clinical experience in a modern Varian environment preferred
- Expertise with Aria, Eclipse, and TrueBeam platform is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
