Boston Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Director to lead our thriving general practice in Boston, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will be a skilled veterinarian with extensive surgical and outpatient care experience, coupled with proven leadership abilities to oversee clinical operations, drive excellence in patient care, and foster a collaborative team environment. As the Medical Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the practice while maintaining the highest standards of veterinary care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership: Oversee all veterinary medical operations at our North End location, ensuring high-quality care in general practice, surgery, and outpatient services.
Surgical Expertise: Perform complex surgical procedures, including soft tissue and dental surgery, while mentoring associate veterinarians in surgical techniques.
Outpatient Care: Manage and provide exceptional outpatient care, including diagnostics, preventative care, and treatment plans for diverse cases.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and excellence.
Operational Oversight: Collaborate with practice managers to optimize workflows, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and enhance client satisfaction.
Strategic Growth: Contribute to the practice’s growth by implementing innovative medical protocols, improving operational efficiency, and supporting business development initiatives.
Client Communication: Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication regarding patient care, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education & Licensure: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school; must be licensed to practice in the state of Massachusetts.
Surgical Experience: Extensive experience in performing a wide range of surgical procedures.
Outpatient Care Expertise: Proven track record in delivering comprehensive outpatient care, including diagnostics, preventative medicine, and chronic disease management.
Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership in a veterinary or healthcare setting, with experience managing teams, driving performance, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage with clients, staff, and stakeholders effectively.
