Job Title: Interventional Radiologist
Practice: Gaston Radiology (GRAD)

Position Summary
The Interventional Radiologist will join Gaston Radiology (GRAD), a physician-led independent practice that provides a range of interventional procedures and diagnostic imaging services in collaboration with referring physicians and healthcare teams. This position offers an opportunity to work in a growing, subspecialized group with a clearly defined partnership track for those seeking ownership and long-term professional growth.

The role is based  on the Western edge of the Charlotte metro area and is onsite, full-time with a 4-person call rotation and the opportunity for partnership in approximately 2 years. The Interventional Radiologist will be expected to contribute to the ongoing success of the group, ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and a collaborative environment.

GRAD is an independent 20+ member private practice group. A physician-led organization, Gaston Radiology is collaborative in medicine and independent in attitude for business. Key Responsibilities
Perform a variety of image-guided interventional procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, biopsies, and drain insertion.

Provide diagnostic imaging interpretation as required for IR-related cases (CT, MRI, ultrasound).

Collaborate with clinical teams (surgeons, oncologists, hospitalists, referring physicians) to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

Consult with patients, discuss interventional options and risks, and provide post-procedure care.

Participate in quality assurance initiatives, adhering to established clinical protocols, and implementing process improvements.

Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to group governance activities, particularly those focused on partnership.

Ensure all interventional procedures are performed in accordance with high-quality patient care standards and comply with safety regulations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
MD or DO degree

Completed ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency

Completed ACGME-accredited Interventional Radiology fellowship (or equivalent)

Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology

Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure

Proficiency in performing a broad range of interventional radiology procedures (angioplasty, biopsies, drain placements, etc.)

Knowledge of radiologic interpretation (CT, MRI, ultrasound) related to IR procedures

Technical Competencies
Core Procedural Skills:

Expertise in interventional radiology procedures, including but not limited to:

Angioplasty and stent placement

Biopsy (ultrasound, CT, fluoroscopy-guided)

Drain insertion (percutaneous and catheter-directed therapies)

Sclerotherapy and other treatments for varicose veins

Neurointerventional procedures (if applicable)

Clinical Competencies:
Strong understanding of radiology protocols and post-procedure care for interventional procedures

Ability to handle emergent cases efficiently

High level of proficiency in diagnostic imaging interpretation in IR cases (CT, MRI, ultrasound)

Technology Proficiency:
Experience with PACS systems, Powerscribe 360, EPIC, and other radiology IT solutions

Ability to use cutting-edge medical technologies for interventional procedures and diagnostics
