Description

Slocum Orthopedics is seeking a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in hand surgery to join our physician-owned practice in Eugene, OR.  Slocum Orthopedics is a longstanding single-specialty 26 doctor orthopedic group.  This position joins a 9-member hand service including 3 fellowship-trained orthopedic hand surgeons and 5 hand therapists.  There will be a busy practice from day one, with hand call only, and a level 2 trauma center with hand call reimbursement.  Microsurgery and elbow opportunities available. 

Slocum Orthopedics has a 4-room outpatient surgery center, hand therapy, CT, and MRI all in-house in our state facility.  In addition, a new 8 OR ASC is being built with a completion date of May 2027.   There are clinical research opportunities with the Slocum Research and Education Foundation and the University of Oregon. 

Eugene is a friendly, family-oriented and dynamic community with easy access to Portland, the coast, and mountains.  There are excellent public and private schools, as well a vibrant music and arts culture.  Eugene has the Eugene Ballet Company, the Eugene Symphony, museums, historic sites, cultural activities, and the University of Oregon sports.   There are abundant cycling, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, camping, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, and other recreational opportunities.
