Description
The Residency Division of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford (UICOMR) seeks a board-certified family medicine physician with current OB experience. UICOMR is a well-established 4-year medical school for the University of Illinois College of Medicine, one of the largest medical schools in the United States. Our medical school has approximately 220 students, and an average of 22% of our graduates go to Family Medicine residencies. Founded in 1971, our unopposed residency is an 8-8-7, university-based program offering a full spectrum of care to a diverse population. Our residents are trained in all aspects of Family Medicine, including a well-established obstetrics curriculum. In addition, a HRSA-funded OB track was developed for residents who are committed to providing obstetrical care in rural/underserved communities with the aim to provide high-volume advanced obstetrics, surgical training, and ultrasound. We prefer physicians with a focus on (or fellowship training) in obstetrics/women’s health and experience/expertise in ultrasound use. In addition to clinical practice, the position provides for the supervision of residents and medical students in the ambulatory and hospital setting. Opportunities abound in this dynamic and growing department for teaching, research, clinical care, and leadership. The department has a strong research division that is fully funded and supports our faculty in scholarship. Faculty also participate in professional development and mentoring. Faculty rank and an attractive salary are commensurate with qualifications. The faculty benefits package is outstanding!
