Description
Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine (CHVM) in Connecticut seeks a Board Certified or Residency Trained veterinary cardiologist to join our existing cardiology team and cardiologist. CHVM is the first facility of its kind to serve the veterinary referral community of Connecticut. Built as an Emergency Center in 1974, we have since opened two state of the art 24-hour facilities in North Haven and Guilford. CHVM is a VECCS level 2 facility with 24-hour emergency care and specialty departments which include cardiology, internal medicine, anesthesia, critical care, neurology, radiology, surgery, ophthalmology, and physical rehabilitation. We have over 32 full-time doctors and a well-trained, motivated support staff. Our hospital is committed to providing a high level of medical care for our patients while fostering a healthy workplace for employees.
Our cardiology service is equipped with a GE Vivid E9 and GE Vivid IQ echo units with transesophageal capability, two GE Mac HQ 5500 HD electrocardiogram units, a fluoroscopy suite with a Philips Veradius fluoroscopy unit and a well-stocked inventory of interventional equipment, Alba Holter monitoring system with 13 monitors, and both Medtronic and Infiniti pacemaker interrogation units. Both of our intensive care facilities include Fukuda Dynascope telemetry with simultaneous monitoring of up to 4 patients in each location, biphasic defibrillators and Snyder oxygen cages.
New Haven is a small but vibrant city famous for its pizza, with numerous excellent restaurants and a diverse arts and culture scene. New Haven is also the home of Yale University, a world-renowned academic institution that contributes to the dynamic cultural and intellectual life of the city. New Haven and the nearby local towns have access to the Long Island Sound with beautiful beaches and water views. There is plenty of local hiking, skiing, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. We are located less than 1.5 hours from New York City, easily accessible by train, and approximately 3 hours from Boston.
This position offers the recruited candidate excellent pay including a competitive base salary plus production, a retirement match, medical, dental, and vision insurance with optional health savings or a flexible spending account, as well as compensation for licensing and professional memberships/dues. A continuing education stipend and paid vacation are also standard.

Requirements

Holds a valid DVM license from an accredited university
Is board-certified or residency-trained in veterinary cardiology
