Medical Ophthalmologist (MD/DO)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive medical ophthalmic evaluations and treatment with a focus on preserving vision, managing ocular disease, and delivering exceptional patient care
Diagnose and manage a broad range of ophthalmic conditions including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, dry eye disease, ocular surface disease, cataracts, and other anterior and posterior segment pathology
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medical therapies and in-office procedures as appropriate
Interpret diagnostic testing including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and other ophthalmic imaging modalities
Coordinate care with primary care physicians, retina specialists, glaucoma specialists, and cataract surgeons to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, disease prevention, and long-term ocular health
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation utilizing EyeMed EMR
Collaborate closely with optometrist, ophthalmologist, technicians, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
Deliver an exceptional patient experience through compassionate, professional communication and patient-centered care
Remain current on advancements in medical ophthalmology, treatment protocols, and emerging technologies

Requirements

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency Program
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
Active and unrestricted Arizona medical license or ability to obtain licensure
Strong diagnostic, clinical, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to efficiently manage a high patient volume while maintaining quality of care and patient satisfaction
Experience with electronic medical records; ModMed experience preferred
Commitment to providing outstanding patient-centered care
